CCTAmazonhead2014Carol Cary Taylor bios & thoughts

I believe that each of us is a multi-faceted individual with many interests and talents. Some of us may lock into a specific subject and become an expert, and some of us have interests and talents that may rise to the surface of daily activities for awhile–to be replaced by something new and different–also for awhile. With all the variety on earth, life is never boring.

Those of us with many interests (and varying degrees of talent) may have a wide variety of friends met through one interest or another, and often they don’t have a clue as to other interest group friends. In fact, they may say, “I don’t want to know anything about ______.” The people I’m in contact with tend to fall into several interest groups, and they rarely mix. Once I had a big party and invited everyone. It was a disaster!

These interests of mine and “friend groups” may be writers, frequent cruisers/travelers, new age/consciousness explorers, alternative health/herbalists, teachers, artists, gardeners, and more (such as people-who-knew-me-back-then).

So what to do about a biography? Here are several different ones–each honest and complete. You can check out each one or stick to what resonates with your own interests, vocabulary, and experiences.

Carol Cary Taylor, librarian ~ ~ Carol began working at 15 in a public library (for 25 cents an hour) and continued in the library field through college, university (Masters degree in library/information technology) and to the present day (now part time). She has experience working in schools (grades K through 12), community colleges, non-profit organizations, and university libraries.

Carol Cary Taylor, writer ~ ~ Carol Cary Taylor, author of “Cosmic Office Inc.” provides practical solutions to daily life through books, presentations, courses, design, and technology. She was encouraged to write by grandparents (who may have detected in her the spirit of ancestors Alice and Phoebe Cary), but her motley assortment of interests and skills began at age 11 with the “Dabbler” badge of the Girl Scouts. Later, she earned degrees in teaching art (B.A.) and library/information technology (M.L.S.).

For almost ten years, Carol wrote and published Senior Activity Ideas, an international newsletter for activity directors working with older individuals. She has published numerous articles in publications: Tidewater Women, ECHO, TMI Journal, etc. and a variety of columns.

Carol Cary Taylor, consciousness explorer and trainer ~~ Carol Taylor has been an active Outreach Trainer since 2001, facilitating many small group Excursion Workshops in Virginia.  She is the graduate of The Monroe Institute residential programs: Gateway Voyage, Guidelines, Heartline, Timeline, Lifeline, Exploration 27, Beyond Exploration 27, MC2, TDAP, Graduate Retreat.

Carol began working at The Monroe Institute one month before Robert Monroe made his transition in March 1995–arriving at TMI as the result of a dream, a freak snowstorm, and a car accident.  As TMI Information Coordinator, she managed volunteer newsgroups, publicity, visitor/relations, and the website before relocating to Charlottesville eight years later.

From curious “need to know” teenage years to the present, Carol has been exploring other levels of consciousness through training, travel, art, education, and technology and has enhanced her life with practical information and solutions gleaned from other realms.  She delights in new ideas and especially appreciates a natural right/left brain sensibility that has been enhanced by training in art (B.A.) and information technology (M.L.S.).

Carol Cary Taylor, traveler ~ ~ coming soon–basically becoming acquainted with 60+ countries. Lots of photos and even more memories.
