My curiosity is taking me away from the comforts and safety of home. And it can be a real stretch, a focused learning, to navigate buses, subways, weather changes, food, people who are different from my friends, and new languages and money exchanges. Yikes! Just when something starts to make sense, a surprise appears around the corner.
But this post is from my friend who cruised with 5 of us to Bermuda last month. Of the five friends, one had cruised a long time ago, two had been to Bermuda, and four didn’t know how to line dance the “Electric Slide.” I didn’t think there were that many people living on the east coast of the US who didn’t know the steps! Surprise!
We got off the ship and then had to travel back home. This friend purchased “Cosmic Office Inc.” and relies on her own staff of invisible helpers often. She called on her “travel helper” for the trip home to New England and then unbelievable “coincidences” began–starting with the shuttle to the airport (no waiting). At check in, she was able to get on an earlier flight (without paying extra). Then, after landing in Boston early, she saw the bus home (once an hour schedule) stopped right at her terminal door. No waiting, and home 2 hours early! She said her travel helper was there all the time.
I like to think that asking for help, doing the work of being alert/choosing new options, and then trusting in the perfect outcome all combined for a safe and early home arrival.
