Being aware, tuned in, etc.

Mindfulness seems to be a popular word these days. There’s mindful eating, singing, thinking, exercising–the list goes on and on.

Last month, I spent 3 hours presenting a “Mindfulness/Meditation” session with interested participants at our local community college

where I was reminded that the best thing about teaching anything is learning something myself. And so we reviewed different ways to focus, to pay attention, and to be mindful–which seems to be especially difficult in today’s gadget-filled world. As kids, we were told to “pay attention” over and over. But pay attention to what–our parents, teachers, crossing the street? And how? There were so many more interesting distractions!

For the next few days, let’s be more mindful of one thing–your pick! I’m going to focus more on being grateful for all my blessings. Will let you know how this concentrated “attitude of gratitude” goes–

What do you have in mind? Have fun!
