A day full of gifts

Today had everything going for it. First of all, I’m healthy and alive and energetic. And grateful. Then, I decided to ease up on scheduling and take some time off. Within minutes, I received 2 email reviews for “Cosmic Office Inc.” and then I think my time efficiency pal went to work. Suddenly, time on the clock slowed down enough to read the entire Sunday paper, go out–enjoying coffee and snacks on a terrace overlooking the hills, clear out the freezer, ready the recycles, paint the first phase of an acrylic “work of art,” get changed, and drive to the city pool. I had the exact amount of cash to get in–no more.

At the pool, there was a perfect parking space (thanks, parking pal!). Then the cashier at the entrance said, “Today’s free!” as I arrived during an “adults only” time with lanes open. Then I heard my favorite song playing next door. So nice! After a lovely swim and shower, I went to the parks & rec cookout next door (thanking the DJ for his tunes) and had a free supper. And there’s still lots of time in the day and evening! Maybe to watch tonight’s full moon.

Just goes to show–taking off now and then and doing what brings comfort and joy can really happen. Life is a series of moments–connected in some magical way–that we can relax into while trusting that our inner helpers will “suggest” how to proceed and make it easy. It’s such fun.
